Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project foundation laid, Odisha CM says work to be completed in 4 years

The foundation stone for Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project has been laid today by CM Naveen Patnaik on Monday, said reports.

Bhubaneswar: The foundation stone for Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project has been laid today by CM Naveen Patnaik on Monday, said reports.

Further it is worth mentioning that, the  detailed Project Report has been approved. It shall be completed at a total cost of Rs. 5929 crore said reports.

The CM further said that the Project shall be completed in four years. The Odisha government shall bear the entire cost of the project, added the Chief Minister.

BBSR-Cuttack Metro Train Project Entirely Funded By The State Government and No Central Funds Sought. When CM announced the metro train project on April 1, he stated that it would be predominantly based on elevated corridors and would be entirely funded by the State Govt

To recap, CM announced the metro train project connecting Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri and  Khurda on April 1, 2023. The project has been studied by various stakeholders and  feasibility reports prepared.

In the 1st phase, State Govt will create the metro trunk route from Trisulia in Cuttack to Biju Patnaik international airport in Bhubaneswar.
