Cuttack: The historic Cuttack Balijatra 2023 has ended on Tuesday, it is worth mentioning that the fare has been a major crowd puller and an approximate amount of 200 crores business has been done.
According to reliable reports, said to be Asia’s largest open ait trade fare, it has achieved a record amount of revenue this year. The merchants are happy with the profits.
This year, the total business in Cuttack Balijatra 2023 is said to be more than rupees two hundred crores. The trade fare lasted for 9 days both in the upper and lower fields.
The National Pallishri Mela or ORMAS also broke the previous year’s record. Business above 37 crores has been recorded this year. Last year ORMAS had a turnover of Rs 24 crore. It is worth mentioning here about the achievements of ORMAS (Odisha Rural Development And Marketing Society) stalls in Balijatra 2023.
The ORMAS in balijatra had been formed in a special enclosure in the lower field. All the stalls were highly attractive and drew huge crowds towards them. Stalls inside the enclosure were formed by the various all women Self Help Groups (SHGs) selling various kinds of handicraft and desi food items. Other than the SHG based shops, there were stalls selling a number of handloom products.
