Bargarh: Bishwakarma Puja revelries turned sour for around 30 persons, who sustained injuries when a vehicle carrying them overturned in Lebidi village under Sohela Tehsil in the district on Sunday. The incident took place while the victims were on their way back to the village after taking part in Biswakarma puja celebration at Sohela.
The driver of the pick-up van overloaded with passengers from Lebidi village and travelling back from Sohela, lost control over the wheels causing the vehicle overturn on the outskirts of the village in the evening. The 30 persons injured in the accident, including some women, were rushed to the Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) with the help of some locals.
Seven of the victims have been shifted to VIMSAR in Burla as their condition deteriorated.
Sohela Police have reached the spot and seized the pickup van.
