Woman falls from bus through hole on floor in Chennai, rescued by co-passengers, Watch

Chennai: A woman narrowly escaped death after she fell through a hole on floor of the passenger bus she was travelling in in Chennai. The woman was sitting inside the bus en route from Vallalar Nagar to Thiruverkada in Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, the moment she got up from the seat, the floor underneath broke and she fell through the hole. The co-passengers got shocked with the incident, and immediately alerted the driver. The co-passengers also tried to hold the woman to not get crushed by the tyre.

Following the incident, the passenger questioned the bus driver and conductor about the poor condition of the bus.

After receiving information about the incident, the transport authorities of Tamil Nadu has initiated an investigation into the matter, while the woman passenger is undergoing treatment.

Reacting to the matter, Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai said this is an example of the condition in which the DMK government is operating in Tamil Nadu.

K Annamalai took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle and posted, “Due to poorly maintained buses, water seeping inside the bus during rainy season, broken seats, even the lives of public travelling in government buses are not safe, the transport department is completely paralysed today. Not only is the transport department, every Tamil Nadu government department in a similar state of disrepair.”

“The question arises as to where all the tax money of the people is going. The minister who thinks about the ways in which corruption can be done in the transport sector should also focus on the maintenance of government buses,” he further added.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
