U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrives in Delhi for 5th India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Delhi on Friday morning to participate in the fifth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue.

New Delhi: U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Delhi on Friday morning to participate in the fifth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue. The dialogue, scheduled for Friday, will see participation from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on the Indian side.

U.S. Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin had arrived in Delhi on Thursday, where he was welcomed by his Indian counterpart, Rajnath Singh. The External Affairs Ministry extended a warm welcome to the top U.S. diplomat, emphasizing that the visit is expected to further strengthen India-US relations.

In a statement, the ministry said, “A warm welcome to U.S. Secretary of State @SecBlinken as he arrives in New Delhi to co-chair the 5th India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue. The visit will give further boost to India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership!”

The 2+2 dialogue is set to conduct a comprehensive review of the rapidly expanding India-US strategic partnership. The discussions will encompass a wide range of topics, including defense and security cooperation, Indo-Pacific strategies, people-to-people ties, and more.

Apart from the dialogue, S. Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh are expected to hold separate bilateral meetings with Antony Blinken and Lloyd Austin, respectively.
