Terrorists kill 3 kidnapped policemen in J&K

Srinagar: In yet another attack on police force in the state, suspected members of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist group gunned down at least three policemen whom they have abducted from Shopian area of south Kashmir late Thursday night.

The martyred policemen have been identified as Firdous Ahmad Kuchay, Nisar Ahmad Dhobi and Kulwant Singh, all were Special Police Officers under the Jammu and Kashmir Government and residents of Kapran and Batgund villages.

As per the report, a group of heavily armed ultras barged into the homes of at least four policemen and dragged them out. As the villagers tried to intervene, the ultras fired warning shots in the air and managed to cross past a river with three of the abducted cops and shot them dead there.

The bodies of the martyred policemen were later found from an orchard by security personnel.

As a repercussion, at least six policemen in the district announced their resignation following the incident and four of them posted videos on internet confirming it.

Notably, Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists put out a video threatening to kill policemen unless they posted their resignations online on Tuesday. The video was released a day after Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists killed an army jawan.

In its reaction to the incident the Union Home Ministry has dubbed it as an desperate attempt by terrorists rattled over centre’s tough policy. The ultras  are not able to execute anything big now due to the policy, it added.
