PM Modi Addresses Nation Through 48th Edition Of ‘Mann Ki Baat’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation through the 48th edition of his radio show ‘Mann ki Baat’. During the address, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the soldiers, remembered father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi ahead of his 150th birth anniversary and congratulated the citizens on the success of ‘Swachcha Bharat Abhiyaan’.

The PM started his address by informing the countrymen about Parakarm Parv which was observed yesterday to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of surgical strike in Pak-administered Kashmir. He said that the brave soldiers of the Indian army gave a befitting reply to the proxy war under the garb of terrorism. He further added our soldiers will give an appropriate reply to anyone who tries to destroy the atmosphere of peace and progress in our nation.

The PM also exhaled the Air Force for setting an example in terms of gender equality by giving Permanent Commission to women. PM Modi reflected that Indian Air Force is at the forefront of relief and rescue work during times of disasters, time and again they have protected the nation.

Mr. Modi also spoke about the marooned Navy officer Abhilash Tomy, who was rescued from the Indian Ocean a few days back. The Prime Minister revealed that he spoke to Tomy over the phone. “Even after coming out of such a huge crisis, his passion and courage is an inspiration, it is indeed an example for the youth of the nation,” he added.

PM Modi further informed that for the next two years, to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, the government has planned to organise several events across the country.

“Mahatma Gandhi has inspired the entire world with his ideology, including people like Dr Martin Kuther King Jr and Nelson Mandela. Bapu gave an inspirational mantra to all of us which is known as ‘Gandhiji’s Talisman’. This mantra is extremely relevant today. He endeared himself to people across all sections of society,” the PM said.
