One-year-old girl attacked by neighbor’s dogs in Haryana; Complaint filed against pet owner

A one-and-a-half-year-old girl suffered critical injuries after being attacked by two dogs belonging to a neighbour in Fatehabad in Haryana.

Fatehabad: A one-and-a-half-year-old girl suffered critical injuries after being attacked by two dogs belonging to a neighbor in Fatehabad in Haryana. The horrifying incident occurred while the toddler was playing with her brother outside their home.

The dogs reportedly dragged the child to a shed, where she was mauled, resulting in eight bite marks on her body. The girl’s uncle, alerted by the children’s screams, rushed to the scene and rescued her. Prompt action was taken, and the child was immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, the child’s father filed a complaint with the police against the owner of the dogs, identified as Surendra. The police have registered a FIR against Surendra under section 289 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with negligence.

The investigating officer, Ravinder Kumar, from Sadar Police Station, confirmed that the child is undergoing treatment for the injuries sustained in the attack. The girl is receiving medical care for the eight bite marks she suffered in different places on her body.

As a precautionary measure, the police have placed the dogs in quarantine for a period of 15 days. Further investigation is underway.
