New Delhi: The notification for the 16th Presidential election of India has been issued today.
Reportedly, the poll will be held on July 18, 2022 and counting will take place on July 21.
The nomination filing began today and the last date for filing of nominations is on June 29.
Polling will be held in the Parliament House and the premises of the State Legislative Assemblies. The total number of electors will be 4,809 including 776 Members of Parliament and 4,033 Members of Legislative Assemblies. The total value of the votes will be 10 lakh 86 thousand 431, said sources.
President Ram Nath Kovind’s term is coming to end on July 24.
The President of India is elected by the members of electoral college consisting of elected Members of Parliament and elected members of all the Assemblies. Nominated members are not eligible to vote.
