Police arrest drunk man for fake call on terrorists entering Mumbai

The Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested a man for doing hoax call and claiming the entry of terrorists into the city.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested a man for doing hoax call and claiming the entry of terrorists into the city. However, upon investigation, it was revealed that the caller was under the influence of alcohol, and the information provided was entirely false.

According to official reports, the Mumbai Police Control Room received a call on November 26, claiming that two to three terrorists had entered Mumbai and were present in Ekta Nagar, Mankhurd.

Responding promptly, the Mumbai Police initiated an investigation into the matter, fearing a potential security threat.

Following a thorough inquiry, it was established that the caller’s information was entirely incorrect, leading authorities to conclude that the call was a hoax.

Reports suggest that the caller, identified as Laxman Nanavare, made the alarming call while under the influence of alcohol.

Laxman Nanavare has been apprehended by the Mumbai Police for making a false report and providing misleading information. A case has been registered against him.

The accused faces charges under sections 182 and 505 (1) (b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Laxman Nanavare is currently in police custody, and a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the false alarm.
