Ludhiana Police neutralised wanted criminal, cop narrowly escaped

This gang has committed several crimes, shot many people and looted them

New Delhi: Ludhiana Police on Wednesday neutralised a wanted criminal in an encounter during exchange of fire. A police officer was narrowly escaped as he was wearing a bulletproof jacket. ANI informed about the incident in a X post today.

As per the information, the encounter took place on the Kohda Machhiwada Road.

In this exchange of fire, a police ASI was also injured and was shot in his thigh. Another police officer survived because he was wearing a bulletproof jacket.

Three accused have been arrested by the police in this connection while the fourth one was neutralised.

These miscreants were reportedly wanted in about two dozen robberies and other criminal incidents, informed Kuldeep Singh Chahal, Police Commissioner, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana Police were trying to trace the gang for long.

“This gang has committed several crimes, shot many people and looted them. Three members of the gang have already been arrested and the fourth one, Sukhdev alias Vicky, was being chased by the police. He was neutralised today in cross-firing,” Police said, ANI mentioned in the X post.
