India reports 46,164 daily Covid-19 positives, Kerala records the highest cases

New Delhi: India registered 46,164 daily Covid cases in the last 24 hours, said the Covid bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday taking the tally to 3,25,58,530 which is the highest in nearly two months. Kerala alone recorded 31,445 fresh Covid positives in last 24 hours.

The death toll due to Covid in the country stands at 4,33,589 currently including 607 deaths in last 24 hours. Out of the total reported Covid deaths today, 215 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in Kerala only.

As many as 34,159 patients recovered in the country which took the total recoveries to 3,17,88,440. India has achieved the recovery rate of 97.63 per cent.

The active caseload currently stands at 3,33,725 which constitute 1.03 per cent of total cases, as per the bulletin released by the health ministry.

The weekly positivity rate remains below 3 per cent and is currently at 2.02 per cent. The daily positivity rate continues to remain below 3 per cent for 25 continuous days and currently stands at 2.58 per cent.

Meanwhile, a total of 60,38,46,475 doses of Covid vaccines have been jabbed including 80,40,407 in the last 24 hours, said the bulletin released by the ministry.

As many as 51,31,29,378 samples have been collected up-to August 25 including 17,87,283 samples in the last 24 hours, informed ICMR.
