DRI seizes 9 pythons, 2 corn snakes from man’s luggage at Mumbai airport

The DRI caught a man at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai and seized 9 pythons and 2 corn snakes from him.

Mumbai: In a recent incident, the DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence) caught a man at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and seized nine ball pythons and two corn snakes from him. This action came after an intelligence input was received by the DRI.

Reliable reports confirmed that the man carrying pythons had arrived in Mumbai from Bangkok on December 21. Based on the Intel received, officers from Mumbai unit of DRI detained the accused for checking his luggage.

Upon checking, the DRI officials seized nine ball pythons, and two corn snakes were found hidden inside packets of snack items. The animals were rescued by the officials under the Customs Act 1962. Further, the man carrying the pythons and corn snakes has been arrested.
