Malkangiri: In yet another case of sexual violence against women in the state, a group of classmates and a non-student allegedly made a +2 girl strip naked with her teacher inside college campus and filmed the whole incident on their mobile phones, in Govindapalli village under Mathili police limits in the district.
While the incident took place on November 7, the victim remained silent over the matter initially and reported it to her family members on November 9, after which it came fore. A case was registered at the Mathili Police Station by the victim’s family members on the same day.
“On the day of the incident, I left my bag inside a theory classroom in the college and returned to take it back, as I had to attend the practical class. But unfortunately, three miscreants including one Kuan Acharya and Mahendra Panigrahi of my college along with another stranger dragged me into the kitchen from a secluded place at the knife point and told to get naked. When I objected, they thrashed me brutally and attacked with a knife. Later on, as the Odia lecturer of the college reached there and tried to save me, the miscreants started threatening him also at the knife point and made both of us naked and filmed on their mobile phones. They released us on a note of warning to not disclose the incident before anybody,” said the victim before Kalinga TV camera.
However, Chaitanya Mali, the Principal of the victim’s college had ruled out the chance of occurrence of any such incident inside the campus. He expressed his skepticism over the girl’s complaint and insisted that the entry of non-student into the campus is not at all possible due to the presence of a security guard at the gate.
“I had called a staff meeting over the incident and issued an ultimatum to the Odia lecturer over his suspected involvement in the case. Similarly, I have a doubt on the allegations of the victim girl as the college kitchen remains crowed with staffs and can’t be used for such crimes,” Mali added.
Mathili Police arrested the accused duo and released them after questioning. The investigation is on in the case.
