Zoya Akhtar’s directorial film ‘The Archies’ to release on Netflix on this date!
Zoya Akhtar is all set to send the viewers back into the 1960s with her upcoming directorial film, 'The Archies.'
In a latest announcement, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ is all set to premiere on Netflix on December 7. Director Zoya took to her Instagram account to announce the release date of ‘The Archies.’
The movie stars Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Vedang Raina, and Yuvraj Menda in lead roles.
‘The Archies’ is designed to transport the viewers to the fictional town of Riverdale. Sent in the 1960s, the film delves into the themes of friendship, love, rebel, and even heart breaks.
The first announcement of the film was made on a billboard in Mumbai. The board featured a countdown timer ticking away until the day of the film’s premiere on Netflix.
In this Indian adaptation of the ‘Archies’ comics, the audience will get to see the actors stepping into the shoes of the following characters:
- Agastya Nanda as Archie
- Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper
- Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge
- Dot as Ethel Muggs
- Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones
- Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle
- Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley
Created in 1941 by John L. Goldwater and artist Bob Montana, the Archie comics’ characters originated in the Pep Comics #22. It went on to become world-famous. An 8-season long series named ‘Riverdale’ also runs on Netflix. The series is also based on the characters of Archie comics.
