Actor Darren Kent, who is well known for his role in ‘Game of Thrones’, has tragically passed away. Kent, who gained popularity for his performances, breathed his last on August 11 at the age of late 30s. The news of his untimely demise was confirmed by his talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, in a statement shared on Twitter on Tuesday.

“It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend [were] by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP my friend,” wrote the agency.

Hailing from Essex, Kent pursued his passion for acting by attending Italia Conti, where he graduated in 2007. He stepped into the limelight with his first significant acting role in the 2008 horror film ‘Mirrors’. His talent and dedication eventually led him to the Emmy-winning fantasy series ‘Game of Thrones’. In the show, Kent portrayed the character of a goatherd in Slavers Bay.

His most recent appearance was as a reanimated corpse in the 2023 film ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’. Kent’s diverse repertoire includes roles in productions such as ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, ‘Marshal’s Law’, ‘Bloody Cuts’, ‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’, ‘Blood Drive’, and ‘Birds Sorrow’, among others.

Notably, Kent’s acting prowess earned him recognition, as he won the best actor award at the Van D’or Awards in 2012. This accolade was attributed to his performance as Danny, a character who struggled with a rare skin condition that confined him indoors in the film ‘Sunny Boy’. Kent, much like his character, confronted challenges in real life, battling a skin disorder alongside osteoporosis and arthritis.

Apart from his acting achievements, Kent was also an accomplished writer and director. His short film “You Know Me,” released in 2021, received acclaim and earned him a January Award.
