Xiaomi announces UPI-based Mi Pay for India

New Delhi: Xiaomi announced on Tuesday the launching of its UPI-based mobile payment platform Mi Pay in India. The app will be rolled out to Mi users in a few weeks.

Mi Pay users will be able to send money directly to any bank account from SMS, Contacts and Scanner apps. It also lets the user make payments through Unified Payments Interface (UPI), a payments interface which is owned and managed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

Xiaomi says that Mi Pay app will very soon be available on Mi store and they are planning to deeply integrate the payment gateway into MIUI so that in future Mi users won’t have to open Mi Pay app for payments.
