Nifty above 21,800, Sensex rises over 300 points as Finance Minister begins presenting the Budget

The share markets in India BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading higher on Thursday as Finance Minister begins presenting the Budget in Parliament.

New Delhi: The share markets in India’s BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading higher on Thursday’s opening session as the Finance Minister began presenting the Budget in Parliament. The benchmark equity indices NSE Nifty 50 opened 54.95 points or 0.25% higher to trade at 21,780.65, while the BSE Sensex rose 242.25 points or 0.34% to 71,994.36 in the early trade.

At 11.03 am, the BSe sensex reached at 72,143.13 with 391.02 points added and Nifty 50 was up 103.85 points at 21,829.55. The Nifty Bank and Nifty were trading in green today.

Indian benchmark indices ended on a positive note in the volatile session on January 31 ahead of budget and Fed rates decision. At close, the Sensex was up 612.21 points or 0.86 percent at 71,752.11, and the Nifty was up 203.60 points or 0.95 percent at 21,725.70.

Maruti Suzuki top gainer while Dr Reddys Labs is the top loser.
