New Mahindra Scorpio N spied with side facing seats

Mahindra Scorpio N has started making a buzz in the market ahead of its scheduled launch in India on 27th June 2022. We have already got much information about the upcoming SUV’s exterior design, interiors, dashboard, seats before its launch thanks to the teasers released by the company.

However, all these details are about the top variant. So, we are yet to get to any details on the base variant of Mahindra Scorpio-N.

Now, we have got some interesting new details about the new Scorpio with the latest spy shots. The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N will be offered in both 6 and 7 seater configurations. Though the prices of the variants have not yet been detailed, it is expected to be priced from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

As per the latest spy shots by Autodriven, the base variant of the new Scorpio could feature side-facing jump seats. Unlike the previous Scorpio images, the test mule here features fabric seats and the third row has side facing seats. While Middle row is a bench seat setting. It is not clear if this version will be launched or is only for testing.

Mahindra might not launch this version with this seat arrangement because side facing seats are highly unsafe and the company is focusing more on the safety of the Scorpio N. Earlier, the Mahindra Thar was launched with side facing seats. But, the variant was discontinued later because it hampered with the safety rating of new Thar.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Dimensions

The new Mahindra Scorpio N will be larger in dimensions as compared to the current Scorpio. It will ride on a 2,750mm long wheelbase and measure 4,662mm in length, 1,917mm in width and 1,870mm in height. That means it will be 206 mm longer, 97mm wider but 125mm shorter in height as compared to the Scorpio. Its wheelbase increases by 70mm over the 2,680mm wheelbase seen on the Scorpio.

The new Scorpio N will feature a boxy design. but, it does receive more contemporary designs like sleek black cladding, roof rails, revised dual tone alloy wheels, a distinctive Mahindra grille with Twin Peaks logo and all LED lighting at the front and rear. It will have a side opening tail gate along with roof integrated spoiler.

Inside the cabin, it will also be packed with latest features. Top variants come with an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with AdrenoX tech-pack, wireless phone charging, semi digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, an electric sunroof and dual zone climate control. Apart from these, it will also have a Sony 3D sound system, roof mounted speakers, front and rear camera, multiple airbags, engine start/stop button, multiple drive modes, hill hold assist and electronic stability control. Top spec models will receive captain seats in second row and front facing seats in third row.

Mahindra Scorpio N Engines

Mahindra Scorpio N will be available in 2.2 liter turbo petrol unit and 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine that is the same as that seen on both the Thar and XUV700.  Transmission options will include 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic. it may also come with an AWD drive train with both petrol and diesel units.

Meanwhile, the current Scorpio will be selling alongside the new Scorpio but it will be called as Scorpio Classic. The new 2022 Scorpio is expected to be priced in Rs 12-20 lakh range.
