Mahindra Scorpio-N features, dimensions leaked ahead of June 27 launch

Mahindra has scheduled to launch the new Scorpio-N on June 27, 2022. The SUV ‘s dimensions  and some features have been leaked online ahead of its official debut. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will come with an array of new features.

Mahindra is calling the new ScorpioN as the Big Daddy of SUVs and has been releasing new teasers. The company has teased that it will be offering highest command seating with the 2022 Scorpio N.

Mahindra Scorpio-N dimensions, features 

The Scorpio-N is leaked to have a dimension of 4,662mm in length, 1,917mm in width and 1,870mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. This means that the Scorpio-N is around 206mm longer and 100mm wider than the current Scorpio, but will be around 125mm lower in height than the existing Scorpio model. The wheelbase is longer too.

The ScorpioN is built on a body-on-frame platform and has been upgraded in terms of design update in a bigger, more rugged and premium stance. It will come in with 6 and 7 seater options. The Scorpio-N will come with a three-row cabin, with the third row facing forwards.

As per the leak report, the SAUV will also have dual-zone climate control, two different instrument cluster set-ups (depending on the variant), front and rear camera, auto start-stop, cruise control, type-C USB ports for the first and second row, traction control, push-button start-stop on higher variants, and, most importantly, Mahindra’s new 4 XPLOR 4WD system with terrain modes and a low-range mode.

Engine Specs

In terms of engine, the Mahindra Scorpio N will be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol variant mStallion engine will offer 170 PS of maximum power. On the other hand, the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will offer 130PS or 160PS power depending on the variant. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The price of the Mahindra Scorpio N is expected to be between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh. When it comes to the competitors, the Scorpio N will rival the SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos etc. While unofficial bookings at dealer level have begun, Mahindra is expected to officially open order books on June 27, along with the Scorpio-N’s price announcement.
