Keeway launches India’s most expensive retro scooter, Priced more than a Maruti Alto

Keeway, a Hungarian two-wheeler manufacturer, recently entered the Indian market with the lunch of three new products namely– K-Light 250V, Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i. Among the three new scooter of Keeway, the Sixties 300i can be aid to be the most expensive retro scooter of India as it comes with a starting price of Rs 2.99 lakhs and goes up to Rs 3.20 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Customers can book a Sixties 300i by paying Rs 10,000.

It costs more than the existing retro designed scooter Vespa SXL 150 but it belongs to a different segment altogether.

Keeway Sixties 300i

The company has claimed that “SIXTIES 300i is a retro classic scooter that takes you back to the grooviest decade of them all.”

The Keeway Sixties 300i has a very retro looking design with a basic looking LED headlamp and a turn indicator mounted on the front. From the side, we can see that the design of the seat looks very similar to the old scooters. It has got many chrome highlights that gives it a premium look. The Sixties 300i comes in three color options such as Matte blue, Matte black and Matte white. The Matte Blue paint option of the scooter then the tyres look like they have a white wall finish. The wheel size is 12-inches and the tyre size is 120/70 R12.

The scooter has a decent amount of under-seat storage. The mian highlight of the scooter is its fuel tank cap’s position. Unlike other scooters, it’s fuel tank is on the floorboard. The fuel tank capacity itself is 10 litres. It also gets a semi-digital instrument cluster and a USB port to charge the mobile devices. It has telescopic forks in the front, dual shock absorbers at the rear, and disc brakes, and a dual-channel Anti-lock braking system is also offered.

The Sixties 300i is powered by a 278.2 cc, single-cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled and gets fuel injection. The motor churns out 18.7 bhp of max power at 6,500 rpm and 22 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.

The scooter measures 1,985 mm in length, 720 mm in width and has a height of 1,170 mm. It weighs 146 kg kerb. The ground clearance of the scooter is 140 mm and the wheelbase of 1,390 mm.

Keeway Vieste 300

The Keeway Veiste 300 has more of a modern look than the Sixties 300i. It is designed as a max-scooter and is powered by the same engine as the Sixties 300i too. However, it has a different design, instrument cluster, cubby hole in the apron, a quad projector LED setup and 13-inch wheels. The company is offering it at a priced of Rs 2.99 lakhs ex-showroom.

Keeway K-Light 250V

The K-Light 250V looks like a modern cruiser-styled motorcycle and comes with a 249 cc, V-twin, air-cooled engine that produces 18.7 hp of max power and 19 Nm of peak torque. The rear wheel is driven using a belt drive and has 16-inch alloy wheels. It also gets up-side down forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.
