2022 Mercedes Benz C Class version unveiled ahead of its launch in India, Check engine and features here

German luxury automotive brand, Mercedes Benz has unveiled its latest C Class which will be launched in India soon.  The new Mercedes Benz C Class consists of three models C200, C220d and C300d. The bookings of the 2022 Mercedes Benz C Class have already been opened by the company. Similarly, the prices of the C Class cars will be announced next week.

Engine

The new Mercedes Benz C Class gets a lot of updates in terms of engine. The 2022 C Class offers three engines that are coupled with automatic gearbox options. All the engines also get 48V mild-hybrid technology. The C200 gets a new 1.5-litre four cylinder unit that is capable to produce 204hp of power and 300Nm of torque. The older generation of C200 was powered by a 2.0-litre engine.

The C220d and C300d are equipped with 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engines. The C220d produces a power of 200hp and 440Nm of torque. Similarly, the C300d produces a maximum power of 265hp and peak torque of 550Nm.

When it comes to fuel efficiency C200 gets 16.9kmpl. However, the C220d gets a fuel efficiency of 23kmpl. In terms of acceleration, Mercedes C200 and C220d can cover 0-100 kmph in 7.3 seconds. However, C300d can cover the same in 5.7 seconds.

Design

The 2022 Mercedes Benz C Class is larger than its predecessor. The wheelbase of the car has increased by 25mm. This means that there will be more space inside the car for the passengers. The sedan will get 17 inch/18 inch alloy wheels. The outer design of the car will include updates like the LED headlights and taillights, refreshed grill and DRLs (integrated with the headlamps). The C300d will be available in three colours- Manufaktur Opalite White, Cavansite Blue and Obsidian Black. However, C200 and C220d will get additional three colours apart from the above-mentioned colours. The colours are- Salatine Grey, Mojave Silver and High-tech Silver.

Important features

The 2022 Mercedes Benz C Class gets an 11.9-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system which offers a biometric scanner that offers to store multiple profiles. The car also gets a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Other important options features include a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging and many more.
