Triumph has finally launched the hotly anticipated middleweight Street Triple bikes in India. The Street Triple bikes R variant is priced at Rs 10.17 lakh and the RS variant is priced at Rs 11.81 lakh.

Triumph Street Triple range details

The Street Triple bike is powered by a liquid-cooled, 765cc, three-cylinder engine, which has been updated with Triumph’s learnings from the Moto2 world championship. The latest updates include new pistons, con rods, shorter intake trumpets as well as a new camshaft and increased valve lift. The updated 765cc engine offers up to 120hp of power on the R and 130hp on the RS. It provides 80Nm of torque for both the models.

Both the R and RS model of the bike has received a tweaked chassis with a sharper rake and reduced wheelbase. The RS now sports a taller subframe. The Street Triple R now runs on Continental ContiRoad tyres, instead of the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III hoops. The RS, on the other hand, is fitted with the super sticky Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres.

While the R comes with the same Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers as earlier, the RS’ braking hardware has been upgraded with Brembo Stylema units replacing the already very capable M50s it came with before.

Both bikes get multi-level traction control, ABS, a bidirectional quick-shifter as well as multiple riding modes. The R comes with four riding modes including Rain, Road, Sport and Rider (fully customizable). The RS has an additional Track riding mode along with the four mentioned riding modes. The Triumph Street Triple R features a Trident-esque digital display, while on the RS you get a colour TFT dash.

Triumph Street Triple range: price & rivals

The Street Triple duo competes against the Kawasaki Z900, which is priced at Rs 9.11 lakh and the Ducati Monster lineup, which starts at Rs 12.95 lakh for the standard bike and goes up to Rs 15.95 lakh for the higher-spec SP variant. The Yamaha MT-09 was shown at a dealer conference a few months ago but since then there has been no indication from the company regarding when that bike will be launched in India.
