First glimpse of Skoda Superb’s exterior details revealed ahead of the global premiere of the Czech automaker’s ICE flagship.

Skoda Auto is set to unveil the fourth-generation Skoda Superb on November 2, marking the global premiere of the Czech automaker’s internal combustion engine (ICE) flagship.

The forthcoming Skoda Superb exemplifies the company’s new “Modern Solid” design language, boasting a slightly refreshed signature grille, enhance LED Matrix beam headlights, abd LED rear lights adorned with crystalline elements. The addition of sporty bumpers with sharp detailing contributed to the car’s dynamic appeal.

In terms of size, the 2024 Skoda Superb surpasses its predecessor in length and height, offering more room for occupants. The boot capacity has expanded by 20 liters, totalling 645 liters, solidifying its position as one of the most spacious vehicles in its class.

The interior of the fourth-generation Superb has undergone a complete overhaul, featuring a free-standing central display with a screen size of up to 13 inches. The gearshift lever has been repositioned to the steering column, creating additional space on the center console. Skoda emphasizes the use of the sustainable materials throughout the interior.

Under the hood, the new Superb will offer a range of engine options. The base model will feature a mild-hybrid 1.5-liter TSI engine generating 150hp. Higher-end variants will be equipped with a 2.0-liter TSI unit available in two configurations, producing either 204hp or 265hp. Diesel enthusiasts can choose from two 2.0-liter diesel options, delivering either 150hp or 193hp. Additionally, a plug-in hybrid version will be available, combining a 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine with a 25.7kWh battery.

“The Superb has traditionally shaped Skoda’s design language, and the fourth model generation will continue to do just that. Its looks are characterized by sharply drawn lines, clearly defined and dynamic proportions, and a modern sculptural and crystalline styling,” said Oliver Stefani, Head of Skoda Design.

To date, Skoda has globally sold 1,560,000 units of the Superb, spanning across generations. This figure includes 137,000 units of the first-generation model sold from 2001 to 2008, 618,000 units of the second-generation model sold from 2008 to 2015, and 805,000 units of the third-generation model sold from 2015 to 2023.

Anticipated to launch in India in the first quarter (January-March) of 2024, the new Superb is expected to have a starting price of Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
