Bhubaneswar: People across the globe welcomed the New Year 2019 and bade farewell to 2018 with festivities. In Odisha too, people are in a great festive mood today. Lakhs of devotees and tourists visited holy city Puri to have darshan of Lord Jagannath on the occasion.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will also visit Puri this morning to offer his prayer at Srimandir.
People in the capital city here ushered in the New Year with songs and dances at various places including hotels, mandaps etc. They experienced stunning fireworks displays in a spectacular welcome to the New Year.
