After failing to rob house, youths kidnap & rape minor girl in Odisha

Berhampur: In a shocking incident, three miscreants allegedly kidnapped and raped a minor girl after failing to loot her house at Balichhai village in Ganjam district last night.

According to sources, the three robbers entered the house of the girl by breaking the door while she was fast asleep along with her family members last night. They tried to rob valuables from the house. However, their robbery bid failed as the girl made an alert,  following which they kidnapped the girl before her family members could get up.

The miscreants took the girl to a nearby farmland and raped her before fleeing the spot, added the sources.

Later, she was rescued by her family members who rushed to the spot after hearing her scream. They admitted her to the Polasara hospital and later shifted her to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as her condition became serious.

Meanwhile, Balichhai police has started an investigation into the matter based on the complaint filed by the girl’s kin.
