BMC issues new Covid guidelines amid rise in cases, Details here

Bhubaneswar: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in presence of Commissioner Sri Vijay Amrut Kulange to discuss the increasing trend of Covid-19 cases in the capital city.

The following points were discussed:

  • There will be an advisory on Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.
  • Schools will be informed through BEO and concerned principals to educate students and parents about vaccination.
  • All schools will be informed to organise vaccination in their respective schools.
  • Ward-wise Sr. citizens and women SHGs to cooperate and educated community members.
  • Testing will be increased and helpline number ‘1929 will be functional 24 x 7 for any query of citizens.
  • Each govt. hospital has a testing team.
  • Bed numbers have been increased from 25 to 90 reviewing the present load.

Additional commissioner Suryavanshi Mayur Vikash, Addl. Commissioner Laxmikanta Sethi, Deputy Commissioner Suvendu Kumar Sahoo, Standing Committee Charman Biranchi Narayan Mahasupakr and other team members along with the health and sanitation team of BMC were present at the meeting.
