Odisha Health Dept Writes To BMC Commissioner Relating To Administration Of Covid Vaccine

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Health Department has written a letter to the Commissioner of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The health department has said in the letter that the vaccination under the BMC zone is not encouraging.

The letter has further specified that the number of Covid positive cases under BMC is slowly on the rise.

The Department of Health has therefore written a letter emphasizing the need for immunization.

A total of 42,260 people between the ages of 12 and 18 were to be vaccinated. To date, however, only 17,726 have taken the first dose till now, which is only 39 percent.

The target was to vaccinate 62,680 people between the ages of 15 and 17. Only 50,751 have been vaccinated.

The number of precautionary dose is the most disappointing. Till date only 993 health care workers, 16,804 Frontline Workers have taken the precautionary dose.

The Health Department has asked BMC to look into the matter and try to increase the vacciation count.
