New-Delhi: India on Sunday reported 1,054 new COVID-19 cases, taking the infection tally in the country to 43,035,271 , according to the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll due to the disease has climbed to 5,21,685 with 29 daily fatalities being reported.
Following a continuous downward trend, India’s active caseload has declined to 11,132. Active cases now constitute 0.03 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.
While the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.76 per cent, the ministry said.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has surged to 4,25,024,54. The cumulative number of doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 185.70 crore.
