Kalahandi: A light intensity earthquake, measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, occurred in Kalahandi and Nabrangpur district at 11:29 AM on Thursday.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 93 kilometres North East of Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, while its depth was 9 km inside the earth’s crust.
People in Umerkote, Chandahandi and Jharigaon of Nabarangpur district also experienced mild tremors for 6-7 secs. People in Jharigaon area were scared and moved out of the house.
No report of any casualty or damage to property has been received from anywhere so far.
