Two goods train collide in Odisha’s Rourkela-Ranchi route, train movement affected

Rourkela: Two goods trains collided on the Hatia-Rourkela section on Saturday night, informed the Indian railways. Following which the train movement between Rourkela and Ranchi has been affected.

Driver and some other railway employees have sustained serious injuries in the accident.

According to reports, one goods train was going from Rourkela to Ranchi, and the other from Ranchi to Rourkela and they collided with each other.

On being informed, railway officials, including a medical team from the Rourkela ARM office, rushed to the spot for restoration of the damaged track.

The investigating team of the railways has also launched a probe into the incident to ascertain the exact cause of the mishap.

As per reports, two trains- Jharsuguda-Hatia Passenger Train And Rourkela-Hatia Passenger Train that run daily on the route have been cancelled.
