Over 1 tonne ganja seized from banana-laden truck in Jeypore, 2 detained

Jeypore: Odisha police on Tuesday seized massive haul of over 1 tonne ganja from a banana-laden truck near Koraput ghat here and have detained two persons in this connection.

As per reports, Jeypore Sadar police intercepted a banana-laden truck near Koraput ghat during patrolling. During the search, they recovered over 1 tonne of the contraband stashed underneath banana bunches and have detained two persons in this connection for further questioning.

The market value of seized ganja is expected to be more than Rs 1 crore.

The ganja was illegally transported to some other states from Odisha.

Further investigation is underway.
