Keonjhar: Smuggling of iron ore continues unabated in Keonjhar as the mafia focuses on raising minerals illegally from forest patches away from the closed and surrendered mining areas.
Forest department officials have busted an iron ore smuggling racket with the seizure of a truck loaded with the mineral substance near Malda under Bamebari police limits in Keonjhar district and arrested three mafias in this connection.
The arrested has been identified as the resident of Jharkhand, West-Bengal and Balasore.
On reliable information, the forest officials were informed that the accused were carrying iron-ore in a truck and they intercepted them, conducted a raid and arrested three mafias.
Later, the mafias were court-forwarded.
