Jajpur: In a shocking development, a jilted lover reportedly branded his cousin sister with hot iron rods for rejecting his marriage proposal. The incident took place in Jajpur district of Odisha on Wednesday.
As per reports, the accused thrashed the girl and branded her with hot iron rod on Tuesday evening after the girl denied to marry him. As per the victim’s father, the accused asked the girl to take One thousand rupees to purchase a mobile phone to make her agree for the marriage. However, as the girl refused the offer, he thrashed the girl and branded her with hot iron rod. The girl is a cousin sister of the accused youth.
The incident took place under Ramachandrapur Police limits in Bari area of Jajpur district. Following the incident, father of the girl lodged an FIR in this connection at Ramachandrapur Police Station.
In the complaint the victim’s father has also claimed that the accused’s parents also helped him in the said crime. Following the incident the accused and his mother have fled from the scene.
Police have started investigation of the case on the basis of the complaint.
