Maoists torch bus in Chhattisgarh near Malkangiri border

Malkangiri: Unleashing Red fear in the Maoist infested Malkangiri district again last night, suspected members of CPI (Maoist) group have torched a passenger bus near its border in Kokri of Chhattisgarh.

As per the report, a group of 50-60 heavily armed Maoists intercepted the bus late in the night and told all passengers to alight it at the gunpoint. Later, the Red rebels set the vehicle to fire.

While no passenger was hurt in the attack, the Maoists resorted to anti-government slogans following the incident and fled from the spot.

Chhattisgarh Police have started an investigation into the incident.

A joint combing has also been started by District Reserve Guard (DRG),  Special  Task Force (STF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to catch the holed up Maoists.
