Khurda: A college student missing for the last five days was found dead at Banpur town in Khurda district on Sunday.
Godabarish Palei of Godabarish Mahavidyalaya was found dead in Ghantasila forest this morning. Family members alleged that Palei had been killed over political enmity and sought stringent action against the accused.
According to reports, Godabarish had left his house five days ago along with his friends to campaign for the students’ union poll in the college, but did not return home . After searching for him at all probable places, family members had informed the local police.
Police traced the body of Godabarish from the forest and sent it for autopsy. Since the student went missing during the campus election, the police, after preliminary investigation, suspect that political enmity could be the cause behind his murder.
A group clash had erupted in the college yesterday post the declaration of result. A Plus Three student was injured in the clash.
