Nayagarh: A man died of asphyxiation while removing the centring of their septic tank in Odagaon of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Baikuntha Behera.
According to reports, Baikuntha along with his nephew Pabana Behera was opening the centring of their septic tank this morning. All of a sudden both of them became critical due to asphyxiation. They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital, where Baikuntha was declared brought dead by the doctors. Pabana is undergoing treatment, however, his condition is said to be critical.
A pall of gloom descended on the village following the unfortunate incident.
Odagaon police has started an investigation into the matter. It has asked the hospital authorities to conduct postmortem.
