Bhubaneswar: At least 30 BJP supporters with some senior leaders were detained by the Commissionerate police for breaching security cordon in an attempt to storm into CM Naveen Patnaik’s residence over Kunduli incident. They also sought CBI probe into the incident and justice to the Kunduli girl, who committed suicide after alleged gang rape.

Raising slogans against Patnaik and demanding his resignation over the issue, hundreds of activists of the saffron party including many heavyweight leaders took out a rally from Ram Mandir Square and marched towards Naveen Niwas holding party flags, banners and placards.

Later, despite heavy security, the BJP supporters managed to sneak in through the security by taking an alternative route to Naveen Niwas by avoiding the main road near Sishu Bhawan Chhak. They had a scuffle with the cops when the latter intercepted them following which many senior leaders along with scores of supporters were taken into preventive custody by the police.
