New Delhi: Ace woman sprinter Dutee Chand’s scintillating performance at the 2016 Rio Olympics qualifiers in Almaty, Kazakhstan will not place in the record books of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) due to absence of valid dope tests.

Dutee’s record would not be considered since the dope testing laboratory in Almaty was suspended by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The Odia girl had clocked 11.30 seconds in the women’s 100m heats of the 26th G. Kosanov memorial meet in Almaty and earned Rio berths, thereby creating a new national record. The qualifying mark for Rio was set at 11.32 seconds.

Besides Dutee, long jumper Ankit Sharma and men’s 4X100m relay team’s record will not be ratified by AFI for the same reason.
