WATCH: Princess of Wales Kate Middleton reveals undergoing chemotherapy for cancer

Wales: Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, revealed she is currently undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. In an Instagram video shared by the Kensington Palace, “I am well and getting stronger every day.”

In the video, Kate shared that she started undertaking preventative chemotherapy after she had a major abdominal surgery back in January. It was only after the surgery it was revealed that the cancer was present. She said that the discovery came as a “huge shock.”

She began the video message saying, “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding; whilst I have been recovering from surgery. It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”

She went on saying, “However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of the treatment.”

It is noteworthy mentioning that the 43 year old Princess Kate spent about two weeks’ time in hospital in January during the time of her surgery.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

Earlier in January, speculations had risen due to the absence of Princess Kate Middleton from public appearances.

It is noteworthy mentioning that Britain’s King Charles was also diagnosed with cancer and is also receiving treatment. His health condition was confirmed by the Buckingham Palace on February 6.

The official statement read, “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
