Russia Announces Ceasefire In Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and Sumy

Russia announced a ceasefire in four places in Russia namely Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and Sumy starting Monday morning.

The decision was taken for the opening of humanitarian corridors.

This came a day after thousands of Ukrainian civilians attempting to flee to safety were forced to take shelter from Russian shelling in Ukraine.

Earlier on March 5, Russia had allowed humanitarian corridors in the Ukrainian cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha for the safe transit of civilians.

It is noteworthy that, after a brief pause in firing, Russian forces had resumed fire and airstrikes and this prevented residents from leaving.

Russia and Ukraine are scheduled to hold the third round of negotiations today.

it is worth reporting that Russia waged a war against Ukraine on February 24 after weeks of military build-up.
