Reason behind British couple’s mysterious death confirmed after 5 years

A couple passed away mysteriously at a resort in Egypt in 2018. It has been confirmed that the reason behind it was Carbon monoxide poisoning.

In an incident dating back to 2018, a British couple, John and Susan Cooper, passed away mysteriously at a resort in Egypt. Now, it has been confirmed that the reason behind the mysterious death of the couple was Carbon monoxide poisoning. The news has been confirmed from a senior coroner from Lancashire, England.

Dr James Adelely revealed that the poisoning occurred because the couple inhaled vapours from a pesticide containing dichloromethane. The pesticide, known as ‘Lambda,’ was used in a neighbouring room to get rid of bed bugs. In some places, this pesticide is mixed with dichloromethane, which causes the body to produce carbon monoxide.

The couple, aged 69 and 63, were discovered critically ill in their hotel room at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hotel. Despite immediate medical attention, John Cooper passed away at the scene, and Susan succumbed to her condition a few hours later.

The treated room was sealed with masking tape, but it shared a connecting door with the Coopers’ room, allowing the harmful substances to enter through small openings. The couple was survived by their daughter, Kelly Ormerod. Kelly described the years after her parents’ death as incredibly traumatic and emotional. She expressed disbelief at the circumstances surrounding their demise, stating that it should never have happened.
