Iran cancels visa requirements for 33 countries including India

Dubai: The Iranian government said that it has lifted visa requirements for 33 countries including India, the tourism minister said.

The visa requirement has been lifted for 33 countries including Lebanon, Tunisia, India, Saudi Arabia, and several Central Asian, African, and Muslim countries.

The Ministry of Tourism’s proposal to cancel visas for some countries has been approved by the government,” said Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Ezzatollah Zarghami.

Zarghami said the decision is aimed at boosting tourism arrivals and attracting more visitors from countries around the world.

He also added that Iran will neutralize projects of Iranophobia, and by waiving the visa requirement, hopes to attract more foreign tourists.

According to Iranian media, for the first time in eight years, the pilgrims will start their regular travel to Saudi Arabia from December 19.
