17-year-old boy clears state bar exam in California, sworn in as attorney

Peter Park has become the California's youngest person to pass the State Bar of exam at the age of 17. He has been sworn in as an attorney.

California: Peter Park, has become the youngest person to pass the State Bar of California exam at age 17. The 17-year-old boy cleared the state bar exam in the The Golden State, Michelle Villalobos, said a spokesperson for Tulare County District Attorney’s office.

According to a report by USA TODAY, Peter Park has made history and he has achieved this feat on his first try. Peter was formerly working as an law clerk with the District Attorney’s office. Now, the legal prodigy has been sworn in as deputy district attorney in prosecutor’s office.

Park took the exam in July and received the test results on November 9. He recently turned 18 in late November but passed the test at age 17 in July.

“It was not easy, but it was worth it,” Park said in a statement.

At the age of 13, Park studied at Oxford Academy in Cypress, California, in 2019. At the same time, he reportedly started a four-year juris doctor program at the Northwestern California University School of Law after completing college-level proficiency exams.

According to the office, Park graduated High School in 2021 after taking the state’s high school proficiency exam and focused on law school. He graduating this year and became a law clerk for the District Attorney’s office in August. He turned 18 in late November and was sworn in as an attorney on Tuesday.
