About 10,000 people gathered in Texas in the United States to recite the sacred text, Bhagavad Gita, on the occasion of Guru Purnima

Texas: About 10,000 people gathered at Allen Center in Texas in the United States to recite the sacred text, Bhagavad Gita, on the occasion of Guru Purnima on Monday.

This event was organised by Yoga Sangeeta and SGS Geeta Foundation as Bhagavad Gita Parayan Yagya.

Spiritual saint Pujya Ganpati Sachidanand led the recitation, according to information from the Avadhoota Datta Peetham Ashram in Mysuru. Avadhoota Datta Peetham is an International Spiritual, Cultural and Social Welfare organisation established by His Holiness Sri Ganpati Sachidanand ji Swamiji in 1966.

Guru Purnima is a religious festival wherein people express their gratitude towards spiritual and academic mentors.

This festival is also known as Vyasa Purnima and has been traditionally observed in significant regions of India, Nepal, and Bhutan by followers of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism.
