YouTube has initiated a new program that will allow content creators to give away free channel membership to their viewers. They can offer these free subscriptions each month to promote their channel.

If the viewers like the channel they can go for a paid membership. YouTube aims to help content creators earn more revenue and raise the audience growth of their channel with this new program.

According to YouTube, creators with Channel membership enabled and who meet the eligibility criteria can avail of this offer at no extra cost to promote the benefits of their membership. They can gift 10 memberships to give viewers access to channel membership perks like custom emoji & much more.

To be eligible for this offer, the content creator should have turned on the channel membership and the fee should be set below $5 price.

These complimentary memberships can be offered to viewers during a live stream or Premiere by just clicking on the “$” icon within the live chat then selecting the Membership gifting followed by clicking on “Gift 5 Now.”

The membership can be gifted twice a month in a batch of 5 by sharing them in one or across several streams. Moreover, you can’t use the remaining gifts next month so you should give them away each month regularly.

This offer is not applicable for Brand Accounts but might arrive soon. The brand account can be checked by going through your account >> “Your Brand Accounts” to check your linked Brand Accounts.

Currently, creators are not allowed to individually select who gets the free subscriptions. YouTube selects who gets the gift memberships as per their interaction and interest in the channel.
