WhatsApp is one of the most used instant-messaging application in the world. The app currently has over two billion users worldwide. The meta-owned app updates itself from time to time and stops supporting older versions of Android, iOS operating systems, and older smartphone models as part of the annual update.

Now, the app is reportedly going to stop working on nearly 50 iPhones and Android smartphones in 2022.  The list includes iPhone 6S, iPhone SE, Samsung Galaxy phones, Sony Xperia M, HTC Desire 500, LG Optimus F7, and many others. This will affect millions of WhatsApp users.

WhatsApp is soon going to stop support on phones with Android 4.1 version and below. The app will also not work in iPhone with iOS 9 or lower versions.

As per a report shared by Sproutweird, WhatsApp will stop supporting many older phones in Brazil that has more than 100 million WhatsApp users. However, the report did not mention whether this will be applicable for any other nations of the world, including India. WhatsApp support for Indian has also not released any information regarding this yet.
