Skoda’s All New Scala Unveiled; India Launch Expected Soon

New Delhi: Skoda has unveiled the all-new Scala, built on the company’s MQB A0 platform. The Scala measures over 4 meters in length and has been styled along the contours of the Vision RS concept.

As part of it’s 2.0 strategy, Skoda has already announced the introduction of an SUV to the Indian market by 2020, followed by a sedan. According to reports, it seems it is also evaluating the launch of the Scala for India.

The all new Scala gets new interiors besides a large 9-inch touchscreen media center along with a 10-inch display that is virtual cockpit ready. Skoda has furnished Scala with holders for umbrellas indoors, USB ports for each passenger and even food trays in the backs of seats. The boot is quite voluminous as well at 467 liters.

In the global market, the Scala comes with three engine options. A 1litre petrol set to produce 95 hp and 115 hp, a 1.6-liter diesel that puts out 115 hp and a CNG-powered engine, all mated to a 7-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG).
