Now you can lock your WhatsApp chats with secret code; here’s how

The social media giant, Meta’s WhatsApp has recently added a new few feature that allows users to lock their individual chats by setting up a secret code or using biometric authentication methods like face unlock or fingerprint. Here is how you can lock your chat quickly and set up a secret code to retrieve them:

• Open the WhatsApp app and long press the conversation you want to lock.
• Press the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the screen and tap on ‘Lock Chat’.
• Click on the ‘Continue’ option and confirm using biometric authentication methods like face unlock or fingerprint.

To set a secret code for the locked chat, you can follow this process:

• Open the WhatsApp app and head over to the ‘Locked Chats’ window.
• Tap on the ‘Secret code’ option and WhatsApp will ask you to create a secret code.
• Create the secret code, press on the ‘Ok’ button and you are good to go.

Chat locking will disappear from the chat list as well. To open the chat, you need to type the secret code you just set in the search bar.
