iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max Being Sold At Discounted Prices By Online Chinese Retailers

New Delhi: Chinese online retailers have started selling iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max at discounted prices. This comes after Apple registered a prolonged sales slowdown in the world’s largest smartphone market.

Reuters reported that Chinese Gadget retailer Suning.Com said it would slash the price of the iPhone XS (Rs. 96,900) by as much as CNY 1,000 ($148.95) from its official price. Suning.com had lowered the prices of other iPhone models in January along with other retailers, but those cuts excluded the iPhone XS.

Similarly, Pinduoduo, an e-commerce site best known for selling inexpensive goods, has also said it would sell the 64GB edition of the iPhone XS for CNY 6,999, a drop of over CNY 1,000 from the official price.

According to the most recent earnings report, Apple’s sales in China declined 20 per cent year-on-year. Slowing demand for smartphones and increased competition from local brands have reduced at its dominance in the country.
